South Shore Arts presents its 15th Annual Holiday Reading,
“A Christmas Story,” with John Cain.
Tuesday November 18, beginning at 11:00am
at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster.
Taken from the original version published in the 1965 Gala issue of Playboy Magazine. "Red Ryder Nails the Hammond Kid" was the story that the 1983 movie was based on.
 $35 South Shore Arts members, $40 non-members.  
Wine in the gallery at 11 a.m., luncheon at noon, reading follows immediately thereafter. Reservations close 11/11.

“A Major Award!” Ugliest Lamp Contest
Bring in your ugliest lamp in two categories: Born Ugly and Made Ugly to win a major award.  Bring in lamps from November 15 – December 2. Visitors vote on the ugliest lamp.  Winner will be announced on December 18th.  Winner wins a leg lamp.
 
“Mommy's Little Piggy Eating Contest”
December 6th. Starts at 10:30 a.m. Local grocery store to sponsor contest.  Kids (age groups) eat mashed potatoes to win a prize.
 
“Oh Fuuudge! Father/Son Relay”
December 13th.  Starts at 10:30 p.m. Relay depicting the tire changing scene in the movie. Parent/child relay to change tire and/or obstacle coarse to win a prize.
Mothers and daughters are welcome to compete.
Winners receive a set of watches donated by Albert's Jewelers.
 
“Flick” Scott Schwartz Appearance
December 20th.  Appearance by “Flick” autographs (autograph fees apply).  Debut of documentary “Shooting Your Eye Out: The Untold ‘Christmas Story.’”
